This year sure has been a WILD ride, hasn’t it? And with so much going on, it’s easy to let all those things floating around in your head get to you and stir up some negative self talk that can really bring you down.

In this episode, I encourage you to focus forward by paying attention to the stories, maybe even lies, you're telling yourself as you move into this school year. Whether you're teaching virtually, with a hybrid model, or physically, I’ll give you a simple strategy to look at what you "have" to do and how you can change your narrative to get on the path out of burnout.

 In this episode you will:

  • Understand how the negative stories that you tell yourself have a negative impact on you and your situation. (9:30)
  • Know how you can make it through the year by adopting a mindset of radical acceptance.  (14:30)
  • Understand strategies that you can use to help you to continue to move forward when things don’t go as planned.  (15:55)
  • Get action steps that you can use NOW to help you to kickstart your journey out of burnout. (20:20)

CALL TO ACTION: THINGS YOU CAN DO TOMORROW

  1. Find a notebook and write down all the things that you believe you “have” to do.
  2. Title a new page with “What if it was simple?”  Then, journal about what are the things that you could do to simplify the list.  Think about who you could ask support from, what things you could have someone else complete, or maybe what tasks are you over-thinking.
  3. Go to the Facebook community and share your ideas for what you are doing to simplify your list!  We’d love to hear it!
