In this episode, I’ll be talking with my good friends Alexis Shepard and Molly Wheatley about the pessimism and hopelessness that we’ve been seeing on not only Teachergram but really ALL types of social media lately.  The three of us are passionate about this topic because we’ve seen the positive effects that social media CAN have on our mental health. In our conversation, we’ll share with you strategies that you can use when you’re scrolling social media to shield yourself from negativity so you can focus on yourself and live a happier, more fulfilled life.

Alexis Shephard is a former middle school English teacher who supports teachers by empowering them to reframe toxic narratives, exercise their agency, and co-create cultures of wellness so they can show up as the best versions of themselves in and out of the classroom

Molly Wheatley is a first-grade teacher who serves teachers by supporting them by supplying resources and training in creating a successful tutoring side-hustle.

In this episode you will:

  • Hear our thoughts on where we believe the deep, toxic negativity on social media stems from.
  • Get strategies you can apply NOW to protect yourself from the negativity on social media.
