There is a lot happening in education right now, and one of those things has been the increase in educational technology. While it’s easy to get sucked into the new shiny thing - it's important to remember function over tool - every time.  Keeping it simple will not only make it easier for students to attend, but it will make it easier for yourself in the long run.

In this episode, I interview Gabriel Carrilo, host of the EdTech Bites Podcast and passionate Technology Integration Specialist from San Antonio Texas. In this episode, Gabriel shares his perspective on how teachers can take some work, stress, and frustration away with tips and mindset shifts he uses himself as well as with teachers that he works with on a daily basis. He shares two tools that he LOVEs for increasing student engagement and his take on how teachers can stop drowning themselves while teaching remotely or in a hybrid model.

Gabriel Carrillo is an educational technology specialist that lives in San Antonio, Texas. He is the creator and host of The EdTech Bites podcast and an edtech presenter who has presented at various conferences and more than anything, loves cooking with and for his family.

CALL TO ACTION: THINGS YOU CAN DO TOMORROW

  1. Take time for yourself and your loved ones. When it comes to relationships, you back what you put in so it’s important to spend time with those who are important to you.
  2. Find something positive you can get lost in and keep at it.
  3. Take life one day at a time. If you think too far ahead, you WILL stress yourself out and get lost in your own thoughts and fears.
